MONARCH AH was a dominating performer on the racetrack, winning 19 of his 23 races, an amazing 14 stakes and 3 Darley Championships. MONARCH AH was not only an incredible runner in his time but took over leading sire status from his own father and remained leading sire of racehorses in the U.S. until his sale and departure to the middle east in 2001.
MONARCH AH is sired by Racing Hall of Fame stallion *WIKING 5/38(20-10-2)11-11 in Poland and U.S., $95,382, U.S. National Champion Racehorse twice. *WIKING is also sire of Cre Run’s DA ADIOS, the leading money earning racehorse in U.S. Arabian racing history.
MONARCH AH is out of Racing Hall of Fame mare *SASANKA, Polish Triple Crown winner.
MONARCH’S progeny has amassed over $5.2 million in earnings on the racetrack
This is a video of Monarch AH (Wiking x Sasanka) racing at Los Alamitos (night racing) on 1/18/92. He set a track record of 1 1/8 mile in 2 1/5 and we believe the record still stands today. Monarch AH was 5 years old at the time of this race. He was owned by Magness Arabians at that time, but he has been sold to a Sheikh in Dubai back in 2001.
Monarch AH's dam died when he was only three weeks of age. But the little colt of “old Polish” lineage overcame the odds and became not only a champion racehorse who set three track records for his US-owner Magness Arabians, but also a champion sire and grandsire. He won 19 out of 23 races, of which 14 were Stakes races and was awarded 3 Darley Championships. In 1993, he retired to stud duties and soon after got second place in the US leading sire tables right behind his sire Wiking; six years later, he replaced him on first place and became Leading Sire. He was the first sire in US Arabian racing history, to have progeny winning over 1 Mio $ in a single season.
When Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan wanted to buy him, he was at first not for sale, and later, only if he would take all the 120 mares of the Magness herd, too! Sheikh Sultan did so, some 15 years ago, and since then Monarch AH enjoys his live at W’rsan Stables as senior stallion. His offspring are doing very well on the racetrack, but also as dressage horses: Al Khattar W’rsan is also known in Europe by his performances in Aachen, Janow Podlaski and Wiener Neustadt, always placed in the top ranks.
We wish Monarch many more years at his desert home, where he is cherished and loved by all around him, and rarely we see an old horse with eyes, so young and sparkling!
SASANKA : Racing Hall of Fame Mare Produced six stake winners including Monach AH The legend stallion. At 19 yrs old her old colt . Who went on to sire well over 500 offspring and earning Over 5 million

Ontario HF lured with a wonderful, 90% Polish pedigree. His parents are American, but the subsequent generations are pure Polish. Th e stallion is athletically built, has strong hindquarters, a slanting, long shoulder and solid legs. Despite his conformation of a race horse, he displays Arabian type and Polish beauty” sums up Czesław Witko.
Ontario HF is sired by the phenomenal race horse and outstanding sire – Monarch AH, who represents the sire line of Kuhailan Haifi d.b. Monarch AH’s sire – Wiking – represented the splendid racing bloodline from Janów Podlaski, stemming from the Laur (by Lotnik) daughter, Worskla. Among others, Worskla is the progenitor of: Derby winner Wosk, Oaks winner Sanna and her full sister (born in United States, but bred in Janów) AH Rapsodyn Blue, the winner of the IAHA Oaks. Wiking raced with success for 5 years in Poland and in the USA, but most importantly he turned out to be the best sire of racing horses in the US (and possibly in the world). In 1999 the total amount of prize money won by his descendants exceeded 5 million USD. In the same classifi cation he was pursued by his own son – Monarch AH, who was at third place after the 1999 season in the American Evertime Ranking. Possibly this result could’ve been much better, but the stallion was sold in 2001 to the Middle East, and this fact makes it diffi cult to analyze the achievements of his descendants. It should be stressed that through his legendary dam Sasanka, Monarch AH represents the marvelous racing line of the family of Sabellina. This one of a kind family was prolonged by Saracen’s dam – the Triple Crowned Sarmacja, winner of the Derby and the Oaks, as before her Sabellina, Santa, Sasanka and Saszetka. A worthy heir to Sarmacja is her daughter Savvannah – full sister to Saracen – who due to a change of trainer and the jockey shortly prior to the Derby didn’t win the blue ribbon, but was defi nitely the best horse of her crop and not only. Ontario HF is also a representative of another excellent Polish line, originating from Orla from Janów Podlaski. His dam HF Orzonna was born in the USA, but conceived in Janów and exported in utero. She was a granddaughter of the phenomenal Triple Crowned Orla. HF Orzonna, an Oaks winner in California, fi nished her racing career with a result of 2/10 (7-2-0) 0+3+1. As for a horse with such an impressive pedigree, Ontario HF – during his three year racing career – raced 22 times, always placing in the money, and won a total of 137,116 USD. In each of the 8 stakes in which he participated, he placed in the top three (and won four of them). Ontario HF won the prestigious Darley prize in the category of Best Four Year Old Horse of 2003, which is awarded by the Arabian Jockey Club.
The American-bred chief sire Ontario HF (Monarch AH – HF Orzonna /Pepton), standing at stud at Tarnawka (Poland, Rzeszów district) since 2007, made a splashing entrance at the Warsaw track in the 2012 season as the sire of get registered in the Polish Arabian Stud Book (PASB). According to the official statistics published on the website of the Polish Jockey Club, Ontario HF placed first in terms of the amount of money won – 17 racing horses won a total of over 216 thousand PLN (about 54 thousand euro). The second spot went to Akbars (Nougatin – Arka/Karnaval) – 151,860 (8 horses) and the third to Ganges (Monogramm – Garonna/Fanatyk) – 119,550 (26 horses). Ontario HF leads the list also in the 2013 season: on the date August 19th the total amount of money won by his offspring was of over 175 thousand PLN (15 horses). Among the seven winners there is the new Derby record holder!
In the 2012 season victorious get by Ontario HF were the Following 4 year olds: Addis – 3, Ekorix – 2, Wasilew – 2, Wielki Damati, Evilla and Mizara – 1 each; 3 year olds: Netka and Migma – 3 each, Wielka Damira – 2 and Wares, Fibia and Auza – 1 each. 12 horses by Ontario scored a total of 21 victories.
During two seasons (2011–2012) 19 horses by Ontario HF made it to the start line:
in 2011 – 7 and in 2012 – 17. Thirteen of them won a total of 28 victories. Between them first was Addis – 5 (2 times as a 3yo, incl. I gr. Pepton Prize, 3 times as
a 4yo, incl. I gr. El Ghazi Prize), 2nd Wielki Damati – 4 (3 times as a 3yo, incl. I gr. Eldon Prize and B cat. Piechur St., 1 time as a 4yo – Criterium St., second in the Derby and Bogdan Ziemiański Memorial) and third Ekorix – 3 (once as a 3yo and 2 times as a 4yo), Wasilew – 3 (once as a 3yo, 2 times as a 4yo), Netka – 3 (incl. B cat. Bask St. and A cat. Sambor St.) and Migma – 3 (incl. I gr. Orgia Prize and B cat. Sasanka St.). Victorious on their debut were only Netka and Wares.
The (indeed) great Wielki Damati
The palm with no question goes to Wielki Damati [Great Damati] (out of Wielka Dama/El Amor), bred by Krzysztof Zakolski and owned by trainer Jan Głowacki. He put on a wonderful finish in the Derby, coming in second behind Pirat (Akbars – Parafraza/Arbil), surely besting the weakening favorite Hyaff Al Khalediah, son of the famous Tiwaiq. He confi rmed his great racing talent in the Criterium St., stripping Pirat of the victory over the final meters, after a beautiful fi ght.Wielki Damati is continuing his battle against the top racers at the age of 5. Also standing out among 4 year olds was the bred by Zbigniew Górski Addis (out of Amina/Murat Gazon), trained by Małgorzata Łojek. He won three races. Two races were won by the unevenly performing Ekorix (out of Elba/Gabaryt) and Wasilew (out of Warta/Wermut), who likes to push the pace.
All line up for the Derby! Wares (Ontario HF – Wienerva) is the 2013 Derby winner The get of Ontario HF was calling the shots in the Derby run of 2013. participants included the best 3 year old of the previous season, f. Netka (out of Nesstika Bint Nessa/Gips) bred by Tarnawka Stud, trained by Janusz Kozłowski (she won three races; in the A cat. Sambor St. she proved superior to the solid favorite trained by Adam Wyrzyk, Master Bars, by Akbars out of Mergissa by Ganges). Aspiring to the Derby was also another horse by Ontario HF: son of the superb Wienerva , Wares (Ontario HF – Wienerva) bred by Jan Głowacki (Mała Wieś Arabians) and trained by his son Bartosz. During three racing seasons (2004–2006) Wares dam Wienerva by Santhos won 11 stake races, including Sambor, Białka, Criterium, as well as twice Michałów and Kurozwęki St. She fought unforgettable battles with Derby winner Gorec (Druid – Gordaia/Damascus), bred by Anna NieoraTchkuaseli. She was second at the wire in the Europa Cup, twice (2005–2006). After shelving her career Wienerva was bred to Ontario HF in 2008.
Such a pedigree guaranteed with great probability that Wares (Ontario HF – Wienerva), the 2013 Derby Winner may become a superb race horse. Głowacki Sr, in an act of ncouragement, gifted the horse to his middle son Bartosz, who was the only one to show a greater interest in racing horses. After passing the exam in 2012, Bartosz not only became Wares’ owner, but also his trainer.
On July 28th, during the Derby run at Warsaw’s Służewiec race course, a strong pace right after the start was set by Poranny Blask (Porto – parafraza/Arbil), who was joined by Elbrus (Enzo – Elima/Eukaliptus) and Gabon (FS Bengali – Gracea/Etogram), bred and owned by Mała Wieś Arabians, the leader for Wares (Ontario HF – Wienerva), the 2013 Derby Winner . The soon-to-be-winner positioned himself at fifth spot. The first to wear out was Gabon, while Poranny Blask and Elbrus had enough stamina to lead as far as the final stretch. That’s when the leading position was claimed by Etard (Ganges– Etezja/Pilot). He made an attempt at taking off from the restof the fi eld and for just a moment a huge sensation hung in the air. However soon Wares (Ontario HF – Wienerva), the 2013 Derby Winner and Wierzbin (Gorec – Wiatka/Pamir) began their pursuit. They caught the runaway about 200 m before the wire and battled it out fiercely among themselves for the victory. Wares (Ontario HF – Wienerva), the 2013 Derby Winner proved better by 3/4 length. The time of this killer race, which took place in monstrous heat, turned out to be record-making. For the first time in history the barrier of 3’30 over 3000 m was broken – Wares covered this distance in 3’27,9. The previous record belonged
to last year’s Derby winner Pirat with 3’30,6. „On Monday Wares (Ontario HF – Wienerva), the 2013 Derby Winner showed no signs of any exertion after this record race. He had a big appetite. Now he has a longer rest ahead of him. He will race not earlier than September in the Michałów St. and will end this season with a performance in the Criterium St. at the beginning of november”, said trainer Bartosz Głowacki.
HF Orzonna AHR*451890 27 Jan 1990 Grey Mare By Pepton, out of Orlica by Krezus. Bred at the Janow Podlaski State Stud Farm in Poland. Suzanne and Rick Flammer of Texas imported the pregnant Orlica from Poland to the United States in 1989. HF Orzonna was born on 27 January 1990. She earned $72,067 on the track, with 4 stakes wins including a first in the Lone Star Futurity 1993. She was also stakes placed in the Daughters of the Desert Futurity (G1). HF Orzonna produced 7 foals, including ONTARIO HF who accomplished a very impressive race career in 3 years, 22(8-3-5)4-4 $137,116, before he was exported to Poland in 2006. She is also the is the granddam of the Texas-bred mare Orgia Fata – the 2007 Polish Triple Crown winner, the only U.S. bred horse to ever win the Polish Triple Crown.
The Arab stallion Munjiz (Kesberoy) left us on September 12, when he was 19 years old. Son of the remarkable Kesberoy (Saint Laurent), he was bred by Wathba Stud Farm, for whom he stood. Under the training of François Rohaut, he won his Gr1 PA at 4 years old. But it is at stud that this son of champion Unchainedd Melody (Zt Ali Baba) fully revealed himself. He is now a father of a father. And two of his sons, Al Mamun Monlau and Josco du Cayrou, have in turn already donated Group horses.
The son of a phenomenon. Unchainedd Melody notched 37 wins from 38 races. In 2016, Martial Boisseuil told us: "Unchainedd Melody and Maha (Jaf Orphatyn) - alias Joyzell, the mother of Mahabb (Tahar de Candelon) - were bought in the United States, after their first victories. I did not take care of these purchases. These two very typical, short statured mares dominated the Arabian races of their time as no horse in modern racing history has dominated its class. I have never known such superiority. They were real phenomena. It is no coincidence that they are the mothers of two remarkable stallions, Munjiz and Mahabb, who bring speed and energy. Unchainedd Melody was as strong mentally as he was physically. She had a lot of speed. She was in her element between 1,400 and 2,000m. Unchainedd Melody still won on longer, but it did so on its quality, as it was above the rest. This mare was Sheikh Zayed's jewel. He was very attached to it. To the point that to go to the projection of Kesberoy, who officiated in Creuse, she was accompanied by a bodyguard. Maha's bad luck is certainly to have been a contemporary of Unchainedd Melody. For three decades, Maha held the speed record for an Arab. She was a real mare to run from 1,000 to 1,200m. »
Unchainedd Melody, three-time winner of the Kahayla Classic – from 1997 to 1999 – did particularly well at stud. We owe him in particular Mizzna (Akbar), who won five Grs1 including the Dubai Kahayla Classic (Gr1 PA) beating the champion Madjani (Tidjani). At stud, Mizzna has already produced Gr1 PA winners Ziyadd (Bibi de Carrère), Rabbah de Carrère (Bibi de Carrère) and Hattal (Mahabb).
Healthy, brave and easy. Entrusted to the good care of François Rohaut, Munjiz only ran once at 3 years old. At 4, after several places, he found his day in the Prix du Président des Emirates Unis - Challenge Derby (Gr1 PA) on good soft ground at Deauville, one neck ahead of Al Sabeq (Tidjani). Munjiz finished his 4-year-old year being the richest French colt of his generation, but also being the one who had won the best value in France. He only ran once at 5 years old, in Tunisia. In 2005, François Rohaut had another leading 4yo in his stables, Mahabb, who also became a great stallion. The trainer recently told us about Munjiz: “He was a very healthy and strong-willed horse. He had a real racehorse character. He may not have been the best, but he had so many physical and moral qualities that it made up for everything else. He was handsome but also very kind. And he transmitted all his qualities, becoming an exceptional stallion. »
Top of the list in 2013 in France. Helped by the quality of the mares of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Munjiz has become a first class stallion. He was even top of the list in France for the 2013 season and it is difficult to quote exhaustively all of his Gr1 PA winners. Among those seen at this level in France, we will think in particular of Mushrae (Qatar Arabian World Cup & Qatar Arabian Trophy des Poulains at Saint-Cloud, Grs1 PA), Sylvine Al Maury (four Grs1 PA, including the Qatar Total Arabian Trophy des Juments and the Doha Cup, Grs1 PA), Al Mamun Monlau (Qatar Total Arabian Trophy des Poulains, Dubai Kahayla Classic and President of the UAE Cup - Coupe d'Europe des Chevaux Arabes, Grs1 PA),Muraaqib (six Grs1 PA including Shadwell Dubai International Stakes, the Jewel Crown, the President of the UAE Cup - Coupe d'Europe des Chevaux Arabes and the Qatar Arabian Trophy des Poulains, Grs1 PA), Lightning Bolt (Dubai International Stakes and Arabian Derby, Grs1 PA), Hayyan ( Doha Cup, Qatar Derby des 4ans and The President of the UAE Cup - European Arab Horse Cup, Gsr1 PA), Josco du Cayrou (Al Rayyan Cup Prix Kesberoy, Gr1 PA)…
UNCHAINEDD MELODYafter exportation to UAE. Race Record: 38 starts; 37 wins and 1 places in U.S.A. and U.A.E. incl. Dubaï Arabian Classic (Gr.1 PA) (5 times), HHThe President Cup (Gr.1 PA) (5 times), Al Maktoum Challenge R3 (Gr.1 PA),Daughters of the Desert Futurity (Gr.1 PA), Emirates Championship (Gr.2 PA)(5 times), Al Maktoum Challenge R1 (Gr.2 PA) (twice), National Day Cup (Gr.3PA) (4 times), Delaware Arabian Cup Juvenile (Gr.3 PA) (4 times). Approximate lifetime earnings of $808,000 and 2Xs Darley Award Winner (Horse of the Year and 3yr Old Filly). Dam of three grade 1 winners.
One of the best thoroughbred Arabians in the world,
the 6-year-old Muraaqib managed a winning comeback in the Prix Damas (Gr.3 - 1600m).
The resident of François Rohaut has only raced a little, 11 times, and this is the 9th success of his career, already crowned by 6 Gr.1
victories in France, Turkey, England and Dubai.

Muraaqib ( Munjiz - Tashreef / Bengali D'Albret ) owned by Hamdan Al Maktoum wing won the International International Manzikert Race (Gr1) organized by TJK on Sunday, September 3, 2017. Starting with Jockey François Xavier Bertras, the purebred made a time of 1.46.14 on the 1600 meters turf track. At the end of the run, he was in the heaviest favorite position of the day with 1.05 ganyan. For the purebred, who won quite easily, the race was almost like a Kenter.
6 Thoroughbred Arabian horses aged 3 and above participated in the International Manzikert Race (Gr1) held at Istanbul Veliefendi Racecourse. JABAL KASSYOUN ( Burning Sand - Jakkarta / KESBEROY ) placed second, GÜMBÜRGÜMBÜR ( Kaizbert - Kalamiş Esintisi / KALAMIŞ ) third and AMEER AL ARAB ( Nizam - Al Basheq / DORMANE ) came fourth in this important race with 65.000 €uro first prize. Differences in the run occurred in the form of Distance - 3 Length - Neck.
5-year-old Muraaqib achieved his 5th win in total in his 7th start with his victory in the Gr1 Manzikert Run. Class victories of the thoroughbred with Gr1 in all 5 races, Prix AFAC – Coupe D'Europe des Chevaux Arabes (Group 1 PA-FRA), Shadwell Dubai International Stakes (Group 1 PA-GB), Qatar Arabian Trophy des Poulains (Group 1 PA-FRA) ), Al Rayyan Cup (Prix Kesberoy) (Group 1 PA-FRA) and Manzikert Race (Gr1-TUR).
Endowed with a lot of speed, Muraaqib (Munjiz) was an exceptional 3yo, age at which he won three of his four outings, including the Prix Kesberoy by three lengths and the Qatar Total Arabian Trophy des Poulains (Grs1 PA). The horse then confirmed at 4 years old with his victory in the Shadwell Dubai International Stakes (Gr1), at 5 years old in the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Jewel Crown, and at 6 years old in the Qatar International Stakes (Grs1 PA) at Goodwood.
François Rohaut, their trainer, said: “Muraaqib is without a doubt the best thoroughbred Arabian I have ever trained. Endowed with an exceptional physique and a warrior's mind, he has an unusual change of speed which has allowed him to win seven Grs1 PA from 1,600m to 2,000m.
his dam, Tashreefat (Bengali d'Albret), second in Liwa Oasis (Gr1 PA), gave four black types. very promising. Free from the blood of Amer (Wafi), Muraaqib was a remarkable racehorse. He gave his first foals in 2021. They are all out of the ordinary. Af Mathmoon was the first horse born in the Emirates to win the Dubai Kahayla Classic.
The lineage of Tashreefat. Tashreefat (Bengali d'Albret) is one of Shadwell's exceptional bloodlines and one of those exceptionally strong lines!. this Gr1 PA placed broodmare gave birth to champions such as Moshrif (Dahess), Barnamaj (No Risk Al Maury) and Muraaqib, winner of seven Grs1 PA in Europe but also in Turkey, Dubai and the United Kingdom, this which makes him a true ambassador of his race. It is a stream of blood totally free from the blood of Amer.
